All data was entered in using the PLSS system and COGO. It is subject to topology rules in the personal geodatabase. This data was originally 2 seperate files (Towns and Municipalities) created in AutoCAD and converted to ESRI shapefile in the late 1990's. Then in 2005 it was combined and converted to ESRI Personal Geodatabase. The geodatabase utilizes subtypes to help ensure accuracy. The boarders of all township polygons are accurate to the PLSS system as are the cities and villages which were entered and are maintained using COGO. This data is subject to Topology rules "Must not Overlap" and "Must not have Gaps".This data is complete to the knowledge of the Land Information Office. When annexations are recorded in the Register of Deeds, that information is forwarded to the LIO and is promptly entered into this data.
